Southwest monsoon/haboob

Good Evening pool owners!!
For those that live in the Southwest and experience monsoons, microbursts, and haboobs, do you do anything to treat your water before/during a weather event? For example right now it's super windy and there's a ton of debris in the pool. So I netted out the debris and brushed. Should I turn the pump on during a weather event? Add extra chlorine?

Nope. Nada. Just skim out debris on the surface and run your floor cleaner after the event passes. The notion that rain/weather causes algae blooms is yet another pool store myth designed to separate you from your money.

I wish my skimmer were more effective. This season especially the basket is getting full more quickly. I think the neighbor’s trees grew a lot since last year.

When we have a haboob coming, or days with strong winds, (like yesterday) I just kill the pump till it’s over.
Once it’s done, I net out all the big stuff, fire the pump back up, and give a quick brushing to the bench and shelf.
