Solid skimmer lid?

One of my skimmers is closed/sealed off. It has a standard square skimmer lid on top, w/ the hole for easy removal. However I've found the critters (mice tiny frogs find their way in, and since I almost never check the closed skimmer I have found some truly scary scary remains in there. So I've been covering the hole w/ all sorts of things the past 2 years (rocks, tape etc) but they consistently get moved/fail by landscaper...dogs...people....and if I don't cover again...more truly scary finds a month or two later. For the life of me I can't find square solid/skimmer lids w/out the middle hole...has anyone seen one? I can rig something more permanent to the cover but was looking for something quick/easy first.

How about a short hex bolt and nut, thread size your choice, a couple of fender washers, one on each side of the lid. Doesn’t need to be water tight, just keep the critters out. Or maybe a carriage bolt, easier on toes.

Oh, yeah, the bolt head on top, the nut on bottom😉
