Do you prefer a blue bubble cover or a clear one and why? Also, what mil? I had a 16 mil and it was just too heavy and didn't last more than 2 seasons. Is an 8 mil too thin?
The claim is the clear last longer and have a longer warranty but the warranty is pro rated and they always say if it’s damaged it’s from improper chemical balance. So I agree with @PoolStored get whichever is cheaper , remember bubbles down
I vote blue. I had 'clear' which really was a cloudy/ opaque white and it was hideous.
Blue will fool your eyes that a pool is 'over there' if you're not staring directly at it. The white cover stood out even while doing something else like mowing the lawn.
I had the 16 mil cover which was heavy as snot and more prone to being snagged on something because of it. The flimsy bubbles which are the typical fail point are the same on all the covers. When my bubbles failed as they would have on any cover, I had to throw out my more expensive cover.
Go cheap. Go thin. Go blue. Then consider it disposable if it only lasts a season or two. You'll probably get more seasons out of it up north. I got 5 out of mine on a reel also up here.
