Just dropping by to share this morning's test numbers:
FC 5
pH 8.0
TA 80
CH 650
CYA 65
CSI 0.46
Per Pool Math, I need to add just a little (8.8 oz.) of muriatic acid. Does such a small amount need to be diluted in a bucket of water first, or can I just pour it in there?
Looking much better. Just pour the acid in front of a return with the pump on. You will do better with your CSI lower. Between -0.3 and 0 is best for a plaster pool with SWG. Lowering your TA to 50-60 will help and will also slow your pH rise. TA will slowly lower on its own as you add acid to lower PH. Or you can lower it faster with this, Pool School - Lower Total Alkalinity
Hi there! Just did a full test of the water -- does anything jump out as needing immediate attention? Thanks in advance
FC - 4.5
CC - 0
pH - 7.5
TA - 60
CH - 625
CYA - 55
CSI is at -0.34
Water temp is 61 F
We're probably going to turn on the heater tomorrow since the air temps are forecast to be around 80 degrees F in the next couple of days, so I want to make sure we're good and swimmable.
Been awhile since I checked in with numbers, so here's where I am this morning:
FC 5.5
CC 0
PH 8.5
TA 70
CH 525
CYA 50
Temp is 89.
So will be adding acid in just a bit, and have just put a sock of stabilizer in front of a jet. Does anyone see anything else that's too far out of whack? Thanks!
pH definitely needs lowering, but it begs the question about how you got 8.5 because the kit doesn't go up that high. Something below 7.8 will be a happier place
