Salt Water Generator

Attached is what dolphin pools store gave me

So how should I tackle this and Which should go first? Right now pool is green and cloudy.
I see it says my PH is high and my alkalinity is LOW. But I figure if I lower ph doesn’t alkalinity also drop? Just trying to figure how I make both of these get to normal levels without effecting the other

thanks so much guys

I have a DE FILTER
POOL IS 26,000 gallons
I only use liquid chlorine

FE,

You need to quit going to the pool store and test your own pool water.

You need to perform a SLAM.. See this link... SLAM Process

Thanks,

Jim R.
Yes I know I need to get my own test kit. I Will soon, makes life a lot easier instead of driving to the pool store every time.

so when adding ph down, do I add alkalinity up a few hours later?

only asking because I think alkalinity up makes ph go up as well, and supposedly my ph is to high already. Just trying to figure out the order I should do this, and time limit between each

thanks

FE,

The problem is I have zero faith in your pool store results.. I really doubt your pH is actually 8.6 with a TA of 48... I suspect that one of those two number is incorrect.

We never recommend using pool store "magic" potions. To lower pH we recommend using Muriatic Acid (MA)

Take another water sample to a different pool store and see what they say the results are.

If your TA is really below 50, you really don't want to add anything that will lower your pH because it will also further lower your TA.

Assuming your TA is below 50, I'd want to get the TA up to 70 or so before trying to lower pH.

Thanks,

Jim R.
