Thanks to you all, I feel like I have mastered the chemistry of keeping my pool clear and clean, but these tiny stains are really driving me crazy. As you can see in the photo there are four small stains. I just put a vitamin C tablet on stain number one and placed a small weight on top of that to hold it in place for an hour. Look at the result... it's almost like the dark coloration smeared itself out into something a little lighter and bigger, but still annoying.
FYI, I have already tried scrubbing these stains with a trichlor tablet several times, with no luck. Can anyone suggest a way to take care of these crazy stains?
