Small leak out of handle on top of a Pentair Tegelus TA-60D valve. Which Part?

I have a small drip that seems to be getting worse from the top of my sand filter valve. At first I thought it might be the spider gasket, however, I have seen that it might be a small o-ring at the top (#5). Anyone want to guess the part that is the problem and are there any other parts I should switch out while I have it open?

How about the reassembly? I have a feeling that the spring is going to be a bear to wrestle back in place.

How old is the filter...?
If its a few years old.. then its a good idea to replace the o ring and the spider gasket while you have it apart... for the sake of a few dollars its worth changing both at the same time... save you alot of headaches later. Be sure to check the spring also... does the handle feel firm or is it quite loose when your press it down....?

Born on 6/15/2010 according to the sticker. The spring seems firm. I can tip the lever both up and down to break the seal. Playing with the handle seems to make it seal better eventually.

I saw some site say it is a 100 lbs spring. Is it difficult to reseat? Any tricks?

I should probably say that water sprays out the sight glass during backwashing and rinsing and I am getting some water in the pressure gauge (new this year).

No really, I appreciate all your time and thoughtfulness.

The waste has 1.5" pvc that lowers close to ground level, where I then connect a discharge hose to push it across the yard. If you are wondering about a waste leak, I think I should be able to see it at the hose connector, and I don't recall seeing anything.

I have taken the entire valve assembly off the sand filter to do a deep cleaning, but I have not taken apart the valve itself. I have heard that some manufactures have the spider gasket glued into place and other not. If I were to do a preventative spider repacement, it looks like I could buy the diverter gasket (271104). Any adhesives needed for the Tegelus line?

Hold off buying the diverter gasket... it may not fit your filter...
See if you can find one online thats exactly for your filter.. or designed for your filter .. Otherwise it may not fit... and a bit of glue wouldnt matter even if yours didnt have any on it if a when you take it apart.
One othe thing.. if you do take your multiport apart. Mark with a texter where the handle is before you undo it all... has to go back the exsact same way you took it apart...
