Cool. That's about what I expected. CH test when you get a chance, please, but no rush. Let's get the OCLT done tonight and, assuming you pass, we can address the stain on the pool floor.

just an update. I decided the hose that I vacuum with was leaky, and not suctioning well. Borrowed a neighbors, did a vacuum job, 2 hrs later the algae isn't depositing back at seams. Usually its back in 30 mins. I will check it again tonight prior to OCLT test.

I think your algae is not depositing back on your pool floor because you have killed it with chlorine and not because of the vacuum hose.

So you passed the OCLT. Now, let your FC drift down on it's own to around 4 ppm (see the FC/CYA chart in Pool School) and replenish your chlorine to keep itr at that maintenance level.

Test pH again when FC is below 10 ppm. If it is 8.0 or higher, lower it to around 7.5 with muriatic acid and keep it there.

You should be all set up for a great swimming season.

Still looking for that CH test.

Assuming you have salt, I would turn the SWG on. Monitor your pH and FC daily. You need to keep about 4 ppm FC in your pool for now. pH will likely go over 8 soon and you will want to bring it back down to about 7.6 or so.
