Kind of proud of this. 2nd year opening, and I almost just drained the pool and started over but figured what the heck let's give SLAM a shot. Took the cover off friday night, scooped up as many tadpoles as I could (had HUNDREDS of them), and let everything settle over night. Vacuumed, scrubbed, vacuumed. Had <30 CYA, brought up to 60 (was hoping to hit 40 or so, oops), and brought fc up to slam levels, then spent an hour scooping dead tadpoles off the surface. Heres friday afternoon pics, yesterday evening, and this morning. I had been having to put about 6 cups of chlorine every 2 hours yesterday, so I did the same before bed without testing. 24 ppm was my shock target, and I woke up with 24ppm fc. Not sure if I already passed the overnight loss or not because I didnt have a base number last night and it wasnt even on my radar to test yet. Havent checked for cc. I think most, if not all, of the junk in the pool was broken down leaves, not algea, so I'm guessing that's why it went so quickly. Either way, so glad i found this forum!

S,

Glad you're here too! Just stay consistent with the SLAM every aspect of the procedure. Looks great so far but make sure you meet all the requirements before you declare success and that's the way to get it done and not have extended time.

If you have any questions just ask them and post a complete set of test results. You'll get answers very quickly. Since we don't sell anything you can be assured the answers are completely unbiased.

Good luck.

Chris
