My cya isn't registering, so it has to be less than 25.
Cya <25
TA 120
Ph 7.4

There's no chlorine in my pool right now.

Can I go ahead and slam, using numbers for 20 cya?

I'm going to increase cya using left over pucks.every 4 windshield raise approximately 10 cya. I believe.but ill monitor anyway.

Can I go ahead and slam and get some chlorine levels worked out. Its been about 2weeks of no chlorine due to me working on alkalinity and Ph.

Yes, it is fine to get started on the SLAM. CYA is less important during winter because the days are shorter and the sun is less intense so the sun won't use up your FC as fast as it will during summer. Also algae is much less active in colder water.

Thanks . Yeah pool is get to g very little sun light.

One more question, I'd like my TA LOWER. CLOSER to 100. Can I aerate to bring Ph up then add muriatic acid to lower both?

I'm playing musical chairs with Ph and alkalinity.

TA was up to 170, use muriatic acid and got it down to 100,

Used some Ph plus and aeration. to get Ph from less than 7.0 to current 7.4 but it also brought alkalinity up to 120

from my understanding, if your ph is steady then the 120 is ok, it's the high end of ok.

i'm new so don't hold me to it.

I have written down that alkalinity between 80-120 is fine...
my problem is that my ph is too low when i lowered my alkalinity, it was over 8, ph has to be atleast 7.2, that's my struggle, it was down below 7 after i adjusted alkalinity. soooo.... lesson learned for me is stay away from ph reducer!

That is correct. If your pH rises too quickly then lowering TA will help to slow down pH rise. To lower TA lower your PH to 7.2 with dry acid or Muriatic acid. You can then either let pH rise on its own or you can aerate to raise pH quicker. It is important to keep PH between 7.2 and 7.8.

Here are the recommended levels
