I had to get a new pool filter so I began with a swamp green pool. Before beginning SLAM I checked CYA and PH and TA. Adjusted CYA to 40 and PH to 7.2 and TA was at 190. Began SLAM at noon on Sunday and have been checking FC every 2 hours except overnight. Realized I had an air leak and finally found and fixed it last night. Since it’s been putting millions of bubbles into the water I assume my PH has risen significantly. Foam has cleared. The water has gone quickly from swamp green to blue but can’t see my hand 6” down. My CC started at 5 and is down to 2. My FC this morning is at 11 and I need to add bleach. But should I let FC come down long enough to adjust PH or just keep at SLAM until it’s clear and fix PH then? If I should fix PH now, how low should I get FC before adding muriatic acid? Thank you!

If your FC is at 11 then do the pH test and look at it fairly quickly. You should get a reasonably accurate reading if you read it right away.

With a TA of 190 it would be difficult to accidentally overshoot, so take the reading and aim for 7.2 and you should be fine (y)
