Skimmer Issue

Have an issue with my far skimmer. First, it was working fine last week. I like to run my suction-side pool vac on Saturday, which I did all day yesterday. Then this morning I switch the Jandy valves back to just skimmers and the far one won't fill and work normally. I looked at it and the water is just pouring straight over the door and into the bottom of it, like a strong waterfall. This is resulting in heavy cavitation in pump and of course the pump pressure won't steady and run normal. Right now I have close skimmer fully open and main drain fully open and all is well.

And yes, the water level is at 1/2 way up from bottom of skimmer.

What is wrong here ? Thanks so much.

Likely your water level is too low. It should be 50% up the skimmer mouth.

Yes I thought of that and put 1/2 hour worth of water in but no change.

Weir door is likely stuck. Make sure it has the foam and that it swings freely.

Going to replace both weirs = SP1071KA. This one is actually the near skimmer weir - right slider pin cover gone and foam pretty ratty.

Ok you guys - new weirs arrived this afternoon, so easy to install the pins basically find the skimmer holes and snap themselves in. Switched back to 100% far skimmer and 90% near skimmer and all is well - you guys are some very smart fellas - thank you again !
