Last weekend, went to turn on the hot tub and saw the temp reading at 245 degrees and the heater wasn't even on! It may be hotter as can be in DFW but not that hot. I also noticed the pool temp said 145 degrees. Told the company that does my weekly service (needed to outsource a few things in my life this year and weekly pool maintenance was one of those things after self maintaining for several years :) ) The pool maintenance company checked it out and told me the senor wire was broken - likely a rodent and it was completely cut in half. They wanted to charge me close to $200 to repair. The quote was $75 for the part and the rest labor.

I did some googling and found this video:

And this sure did look easy. The part was $10 on Amazon so I figured I'd give the fix a try. I have replaced outlets in my house so I wasn't too scared to attempt. What is most important here is that while the fix itself was SUPER easy, and it did immediately solve the pool temp issue, the hot tub was still reading 245 and I worried it was something more for the hot tub! I called my local pinch a penny that I use and they walked me through resetting the panel and then cycling on the hot tub with no heat. I had to be patience as it took about 5 minutes BUT time was all the app needed to refresh.

Sharing is caring so hope this helps someone else.
