I need to replace the sight glass on my Filter tank because the washer in the end of the glass is warped and water is spraying out when I backwash. The glass is fine. Can I replace just the the washer ( it is sort of one way breather valve) my husband’s description! ? Or should I replace the entire sight glass? If so, does anyone know of a place on line where I can order one? I’ve looked on Amazon, but when I search by the model number, it looks nothing like mine!!!

My filter (Pentair SD 80) has a similar sight glass, with the vacuum breaker gasket inside. It turned out that my "sand" was mostly mud, requiring replacement because it wouldn't filter nor properly backwash. Once the filter was cleaned and new sand installed, the vacuum breaker works perfectly. You might want to try deep cleaning the filter to see if that helps. If the sand is contaminated or heavily channeled it will disrupt the vacuum breaker operation.

Pentair sight glass, w/vacuum protector p/n 272550.

There is also a sight glass with no vacuum breaker that I think fits the same hole.

If you don't need the vacuum breaker, you can get the regular sight glass.

If you don't need the vacuum breaker, you can just glue over the vent holes and use your current sight glass as a regular sight glass.
