Should I upsize my filter cartridges or switch to Quad D.E. Cartridge Style Filter?

Need to replace 6 year old cartridges in a Pentair C&C Plus 240 filter but am considering upsizing to 320 cartridges. I'm not sure its cost effective if the only benefit is less frequent cleaning. I have a 16x32 salt water pool that holds approximately 20k gallons of water with one skimmer. Chemicals are balanced but pool vacuum can't keep up with dirt and minimal tree debris. The pool is surrounded by crops that likely add to the debris. Neighbors with similar pools swear by their Pentair DE filters. Not wanting to deal with DE after years with an above ground but am curious if anyone has any experience with the Quad D.E. Cartridge Style filter. I'm also wondering if one skimmer is the problem and if so, what can be done at this point?

I have a similar size pool, and I'm lazy, so I have a Pentair CCP520. For the incremental cost, I'd rather go large and have to clean less often.
I'm happy with it. Had an old DE, but the DE kept leaking into the pool and I couldn't figure out how to fix, so I went for the CCP520.

Out of curiosity do you have more than one skimmer?

I’m not sure why DE is even still around given cartridge style filters are available. The mess they are to clean makes me not like them. The sand filter I have works great but would use a cartridge if I changed.

Thank you for reinforcing what I remember about dealing with DE.

I just have one skimmer.
But I have a solar cover on my pool much of the time so the skimmer doesn't have to do that much.

I have had some fine dust on the bottom of my pool, I think its dead algae from early spring when I was lazy.
So its either getting kicked up when I vacuum, or its going through the filter. I've vacuumed a few times this season, and its slowly going away.
I just bought a pool vac, will see if that does the trick to get rid of it.
Also note that since my daughters are grown now, we only use the pool a handful of times during the year.

I doubt one skimmer is the problem but I'll bet your Kreepy Krawler could be. I would suggest you learn about and price some robots. They are not cheap but a good one in the $800-1200 range would likely keep your pool spotless.
