Hello all, This is our second summer owning a pool, and while I started piddling around with using TFP's advice, I'm ready to actually work at it this season.
Though it was later than we liked, we finally got our rather green pool open and running last weekend. After 8 gallons of liquid bleach and some Alkalinity up per our pool store's guidance, we were able to balance everything and add salt.
Now, 1 week later, after finally getting my own Taylor test kit, I am getting the following numbers:
pH 7.6
TA 110
FC 5
CC 1.5
CYA 70
To lower our CC, can I simply try running the SWG on super chlorinate for 24hrs, or should I go straight to the chlorine? I've vacuumed a few times during the week and we let the pump backwash/rinse twice for 3-5 min each during the process of removing the initial algae, etc. Thanks for all the advice in the forums and pool school. I just want to make sure I am getting off to the right start from what I read and hopefully understood.
