The last time I backwashed my filter (sand filter) was mid-May. The current pressure is 25 psi and it took a loooooong time for the pressure to even get to 25 psi and it has been at 25 psi for maybe a month now. Baseline pressure is 20 psi. Previous owner said to backwash when pressure is at 30 psi.
Should i wait until the pressure gets to 30 psi? Or should it be done every month? Every other month?

By the way I have a robotic cleaner that does an awesome job cleaning the pool and it could be why mu pressure stays at same pressure for a long time

You should clean/backwash your filter when the pressure rises by 25% over clean pressure.

If your clean pressure is 20 psi, you should backwash at 25 psi.

Assuming that your pool is clean and the filtration is to your liking, it should be no concern that your filter is taking a long time to raise PSI. If your filter is doing a good job and it takes an entire season to gum it up to need a backwash, that’s less water loss and work for you!

Although like the others said 30 PSI is too much. Backwash at a 25% increase, which would be now at 25 psi.
