I’ve been trying to maintain my pool for the past few weeks now. Just wondering if I should add Calcium to my pool or to just leave it alone since I’m on the low side and expect it to rise over time. My CH was sitting at 500 when I bought the house. Did a drain and refill a few weeks ago to start the swim season. The fill water CH was 140. Note: There is a lot of calcium deposit scaling just above the water line (see photo). Was thinking of keeping CH on the low side so that during swimming activity over time the scaling will wash away. However, my pebbletec pool is slowly losing grains as I find it in my pool cleaner all the time. All my numbers are visible in my log. Keep in mind I live in Chandler, AZ where it’s hot, dry and known for hard water. What do you guys think?
