There is really no need to have the tabs in while doing a SLAM Process. They will just increase your CYA which will require a higher FC level. Can you just pull the tabs and let them dry for use later? But to answer your initial question, if you have tabs in a floater or an inline chlorinator, you can add liquid chlorine at the return jets. That's fine. Just don't mix them directly together.
