Semi Inground pool - buttress lifting inside pool

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and a new pool owner. I purchased a 15x26 foot pool from the pool factory a month ago and had it installed by someone who was supposed to be a professional. The pool is 18 inches in the ground. Recently I saw two of the buttress slightly raising in the pool, you can see and feel it inside the pool. I called the pool installer who said this is normal. Is it normal, and will it affect the overall longevity? Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to TFP!!

that is not the buttress rising. Unfortunately it is the sand working it’s way under the hollow cross pieces. When the sand moves to causes the crosspiece to show under the liner. I know this because it happened in one area of my pool as well. I don’t think it’s normal, but not necessarily atypical.
that indent will catch debris and may be a toe knocker. 4 seasons into the install and it’s still ok. It could be a place prone to wear and tearing.
