Sealing between Pool Tile and Automatic Cover Rail and Coping

I am nearing the end of my build.

I have glass water line tile, automatic pool cover rails, then stone coping. The automatic cover rails sit right on the guinite and the glass tiles underneath. However there is a seam between--maybe 1/8 of an inch. I asked the tile team if that should have a bead of caulk and they asked if I wanted one.

The PB wasn't around at the time and frankly I am not sure how often he does autocovers.

Thought I would come here for advice.

Silicone is great the first time, then when it needs redone it hardly ever works because nothing will stick to silicone and you can never get it all off..
