i was looking at my sandfilter and on the top it, it said "max psi 50".. when i started my pool this year, everything running good, the pressure gage reads 45 psi. when the sandfilter needs to be backwashed it gets to around 53psi. should i worry about my filter exploding, or is this a normal pressure amount?
p.s. everythimg seems to be running well. filter deatails are in the signature. Thanks for helping!

On the advice of someone from this board, I just replaced my 2nd cheap, junk, gauge with a decent Wika liquid filled gauge.

Decent price at $17 and the gauge seems pretty rock steady with no pulsation or vibration that my cheaper gauges had.

Great company...fast shipping! I opted for the all stainless steel (inside & out) model. More money, but I only plan on buying one for the next few decades. I also went with the 0-30 model for more granularity.

I had contemplated getting the 30 PSI for more accuracy, but since the pentair replacement was 60 PSI and i had no idea what my actual pressure was, i opted for the 60 PSI. I am very happy with purchase so far. It's a nice gauge for a reasonable price. I was also impressed that i ordered it in the afternoon and they shipped it the same day. It arrived a day earlier than i expected too. No affiliation, just good customer service.
