I installed an Intex sand filter unit on our 16' vinyl pool. The pump and filter work great vs the old cartridge ones I changed out. My problem is after I do a back wash and then rinse like they said it will pump a fairly large plumb of sand for the first 10 seconds when running back on the filter setting. I used HTH brand pool sand in the filter and didnt get any in the center tube of the filter tank.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I did try a filter type sock on the water re-circulation port into the pool and it did grab a very minute amount of sand but still pumped a good plumb into the pool.
