Sand pump leaking and cloudy water

Hello,

We have hooked everything up. Heater is working, and pump is pumping but I don't think it is sand filtering.
It works in Arrows in a circle mode, but not in Play mode. So does this mean it is not being filtered by the sand?
When it is in Play mode it leaks really badly from the sand pot flange.

Also the water is cloudy. But perhaps as filter not engaged?

You probably need chlorine in the water. If you could post current test results we can better determine what the pool needs. As for your filter, can you remove the top and look at the gasket underneath? It may be loose or damaged causing the leak. Also make sure the spider skimmer hub protector was removed after sand was added.

The arrows in a circle mode is recirculate. When it is set to recirculate it is not filtering the water.
