I am so confused Reading all the information about saltwater generators and t a. I thought it was supposed to be around 120 then I read it should be around 80 for swg. Is this how all of you with Salt water generators calculate your TA?
The adjusted alkalinity is the TA - (CYA x cf).
So my ta is 120-(65×.33) equals a ta of 89?

Do not 'adjust' your TA. TA is Total Alkalinity.

The lower TA is due to you not using Trichlor. With Trichlor use, a higher TA is needed so you do not crash your pH due to the acidic nature of Trichlor.
Also, a lower TA will keep the scale from forming in your SWCG.

We don’t bother using correction factors for TA as PoolMath already accounts for that. Yes, TA should be lower in an SWG pool because you want to maintain a slightly negative saturation index (CSI) to avoid calcium scaling inside the SWG cell. Calcium hardness, typically, is not something that can be easily lowered but TA and pH can be maintained at lower levels easily.

I try to keep my TA (I corrected value) at 70ppm or lower.
