salt readings

My plaster pool is 50 years old repainted x2 with no problems but now with a 2 month old replacement salt cell unit by "Platinum Edition Salt Cells"
(Goldine I think) I am seeing a v low CL level and a big difference in the salt reading I see on the panel vs what my local pool store test shows (4000 vs 2500 respectively. Sure would appreciate some help. Tpm

I wouldn't trust the pool store tests, they typically aren't accurate. The reading on the salt cell is also an estimate, it usually says in the SWCG manual to test independently.

The answer is to get a good test kit for salt, I would buy the Taylor K-1766 and you can verify what your salt it yourself.
