Salt level high

We are just getting our pool set up for the Summer, bought a new Intex saltwater system because we couldn’t get replacement parts for our literally just 4 year old pump. We added the recommended 360 lbs of salt yesterday evening, brushed to dissolve, ran the pump for 24 hours then this evening when I went to start the chlorinator I got the code indicating high salt level and when I tested it it was significantly higher than the recommended 2500-3000 ppm level. Pool is maybe still not quite full but wouldn’t think it would make a significant difference in the salt level. Going to run the filter pump for another 24 hours then try to start the chlorinator tomorrow evening, open to any and all thoughts or suggestions. We know if the salt level stays high we’ll have to drain some water off, but this has never happened before.

What was the salt level from your test? 3500 would put your pool volume at just over 12,000.
That is why we recommend adding 2/3rds of what you think you need, then test 24 hours later, then make final addition...that first traunch give you a sense of the volume.
