Okay, got a few questions that I need someone smarter and more experienced than I am to answer please. Recently put up a 16x48 Intex Ultra with SWG. I've read pool school a few times and each time it begins to make more sense to me. My test levels are right where my intex guide says they should be, except for FC & stabilizer but I'll get to that next, but they differ from the pool school suggestions. Which should I follow...owner's manual numbers or pool school numbers?
Next the whole stabilizer/FC issue. Our pool is in full sun with no shade what so ever, unless there is a passing cloud, so I know the sun is eating up a Ton if not all of my FC. Here's my question, do I use shock packets to up the stabilizer and FC level or simply add CYA? Everything else is checking out, just not FC and CYA. I know the chlorine is being used up just as fast as the SWG can produce it due to lack of CYA. If I add CYA, pool school suggest using a sock in the skimmer or tying it close to the return, however the canister of 100% CYA I purchased instructs me to add it slowly and directly into the skimmer with continous water circulation. Again, which to follow, pool school or printed label?
Sorry for the long read and thanks for all the help that I've been given in just my first few weeks as a member of this site.
