My question that I'm getting different responses on. I have a 30,000 gunite pool and purchased Dolphin Premier few years back. Every opening there is always dirt/debris at the bottom which is expected . Do I still need to manually vacuum or can i just throw the robot in and let it do its thing? For the amount of money it costs it would be nice to not have to do any manual cleaning but I'm also told that throwing it in at opening will just kick everything up and the water will never clear up. Thanks

Robots aren't designed for heavy cleaning.

With the short lifespans of these modern robots, I wouldn't ask it to do more than it should. Many would, on the other hand.

I remove branches and pine comes and then run my dolphin nautilus CC plus 5-7 times and it’s clean. I start with screen filters and switch to fine after 3 or 4 runs.

I prefer the dolphin does the work. :). When I craps out I’d buy the same one again. Purchased 6/20 and used for an about 5 month season. I clean after each use; store inside on the caddy.

I have no trees, and when I open I do not have heavy debris on the bottom of the pool. I mainly have a few leaves and some worms.

I have not manually vacuumed the pool in over 15 years. As soon as the cover is off, the robot goes in while I get the filter system up and running.
