I have two return outlets in my pool. One is leaking, it has been patched before. My question is , Can I plug the return off and just have the other to circulate the water. It is an old pool with old pvc lines. Pool company has been here twice and it still leaks. A pressure test showed no leaks. The problem is between the pipe and outlet. I'd like opinions on whether you think the pressure may be too high and cause more problems? Suggestions are appreciated

fnc,

I don't think one return is enough, but the pipes will not break if you plug the leaking one...

But, I really don't understand the problem... If the pipe passed the pressure tests it should not be leaking.

Is the problem that the pool water in the pipe is leaking before it gets to the pool or is the problem that the water in the pool is leaking past the return gasket and out of the pool?

What was patched before?? How did you plan to "plug" it?

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
