I decided to move away from pool store testings a few weeks ago.

Just popped the first test cherry using the
TF-Pro kit😄
I’ll list some of the info and my initial thoughts here.
Appreciate your input and recommendations. Apologies in advanced for typos or incorrect technical info.
Btw, the pool is Pool is clear right now.

FC =3.5
CYA =50
PH=8.2
TA=100
My thoughts on initial results:
Need to add acid (19 oz) according to pool math. Then aerate
Add 42 ounces of dry stabilizer to reach 75 CYA target.

Questions:
Based on the TFP table I should be at 5-10 Free chlorine at the recommended ~75 CYA.
Meaning I need to increase the salt system chlorine output ?
Do I have this right ?

Where so YOU buy or what product do you use for cya (I used to buy stuff from Pinch a penny.

Any other recommendations based on this info ?
THANJ YOU ALL!!

Juat add the acid. No need to aerate to raise the Ph after lowering it. Target 7.8 and 7.6 is your wiggle room if you overshoot.

Maintain the Ph as a high 7, as in, dose when it hits 8+ and the 100 TA will come down on its own.

Never make significant CYA additions without passing an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. +25 CYA raises your slam target +10 if anything was brewing before. Trust me, you want to know before. :)

You want to never sniff minimum for your CYA. The sun comes out and burns off FC daily, and you / your swg replaces it daily. As the season warms up, you'll lose more daily and increase SWG production to match. Consider when you produce your FC and when you test it, in regards to the 8(?) hour daily loss period, so that you never sniff min.

The chart doesn't understand July in Miami versus October in Toronto. Min is the key # and it's up to you to factor everything else. (Ask away and we'll help)

Thank you. Added the acid and ordered CYA.
I was also wondering why the store says to put CYA through skimmer. While everyone here says to use a sock.

Found this interesting.
