I had plenty of pipe to install my RJ45+, but I'm still low on CYA and need to add some. Anyone ever just dump it in the old puck bucket and crank it wide open?
You can use the tabs, and they will increase the CYA, but it won't be fast. Today feels like one hot & muggy TX day. It won't be long before your SWG needs the CYA of 70. So you might add stabilizer for a CYA goal of at least 50 then use pucks for a couple weeks and see how close you get to 70.
Dropping the sock full of stabilizer in the bucket? Sure. It just needs to get soggy enough to squeeze all the stabilizer out. Then you can just pour it in the water.
No - do not put stabilizer in the chlorine feeder. It is made specifically for chlorine tablets and you should never cross contaminate with ANY other chemicals.
To most of us, a "puck bucket" is the bucket the pucks came in when you bought them.
Ahhhh, now I see. Not real sure if there is a mechanical reason that would be a negative, but for the simple reason the granules would just sit in there for up to a week I wouldn't' do it. I'd just use the reliable sock method and be done with it in about 30 minutes.
