Replastering my Pool but there are cracks...

I'm in the process of replastering my 20k-gallon pool. They have chipped out the pool but noticed a crack against the side of the wall and another smaller one on the floor. The pool plastering company is recommending additional work totaling $450 to repair cracks in the gunite concrete using Redgard. They wrote up a separate invoice with a note that there is no warranty for this work. The pool plastering is under warranty but any issues stemming from the gunite cracking wouldn't be covered. He's assured me these types of issues are rare and this crack seems smaller but this is the best course of action.

Can anyone comment on this or recommend any other actions I should take?

Is the crack structural or cosmetic? If the crack extends up to the bond beam and over to the back side it may be structural. Some pictures may help someone comment better.

I second the request for pics so we can really see what you are dealing with. Can you fit a a dime into the crack?

Redgard isn't the solution to a crack. If it's not structural, you can probably plaster just over it. If it's structural, you'll need to use concrete staples to stabilize it. The fact they won't warranty anything over the Redgard-repaired crack speaks volumes!

There's a vein on the floor but the deeper one is against the side wall. There are two pics of the side wall.

Looks like the crack extends up to the tile and the tile has even come loose? (The grout is missing). That points to a structural crack.

Chances are, using the "fix" proposed is like using a bandaid to cover a gaping wound.
You may be best served getting a pool builder well versed in using concrete staples involved.

If it helps any, I’ve got some staples on order for my pool and plan to take some pictures/video of the process. It’s all DIY though, no professionals involved so beware.

Are the crack in the shallow end of the pool?

Were you seeing these cracks before the plaster was chipped out? Were they visible in the plaster?

I don’t believe there were cracks before the chip out.

The cracks are on the deep end. Those cracks were not visible until it was chipped out.
