I have a 28000 gallon pool that's being renovated...new plaster, tile etc. Do you have suggestions for start up chemicals and quantities I will need? I know I will need a lot of muriatic acid in the first few months. What about cyanuric acid/how much? Also other chemicals? Thanks.

Your first step, if you choose to follow TFP, is to purchase a good, reliable Test kit so you can measure the starting point of those chemicals.

Then, while waiting on your kit to arrive, you should Please read "The "ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry" up in Pool School so you will understand why you are testing and begin to learn what the test results mean.

Only then can we suggest what chemistry, if any, you will need to add. Don't buy anything until you can post test results while your pool is filling.

Did you manage the pool prior to renovation?
