Replacing Pool Plumbing

Hello Everyone

I'm in north texas and had some freeze damage. As a result I'd like to change out all the pool plumbing since I have some cracked valves and broken check valve. I'm trying to get input on the best way to assemble the new plumbing. My plan is to allow a longer length of straight pipe to the pump and also a straighter route from the pump to the filter. Also I plan to make a more direct route from the filter (see image 2). Does this seem like a good plan?

A couple of other questions. Should I use 45 degree fittings for a smoother transition? If so which areas should have 45 degree? Lastly can I just use a check valve at the pump?

Thanks for any help!

Jim, Why does your profile on the left say you are in NJ?

Pentair recommends the straight suction pipe into the pump be at least 5X the pipe diameter.

Also I plan to make a more direct route from the filter (see image 2). Does this seem like a good plan?

Cant hurt, may help. I don’t think you can really get the pipe in the way you drew it. Don’t sweat it. It will not make much difference.

A couple of other questions. Should I use 45 degree fittings for a smoother transition?

Will not make a difference.
If so which areas should have 45 degree?
Will not make a big difference.

Lastly can I just use a check valve at the pump?

Where?

You need the CV on the spa return Line.
Thanks for any help!

How often do you clean that small filter? Consider getting a larger cartridge filter.
