Replacing gasket to multiport valve ?

Tried to replace gasket to mpv, turned off pump, closed valves to skimmer, drain and vacuum.
Removed lid and water continues to flow out, rapidly filling up the pool box.
Have changed these before so am lost why there is still water flowing out, this is a new pool.
Obviously cannot carry out any future maintenance to mpv.

Welcome to TFP! To do maintenance on the equipment pad (or box), all valves need to be closed that would allow water to flow in & out to the box. I can't tell from your picture, but there should be at least TWO valves, one before the pump (suction side) and one after the filter (pressure return side). If those two valves are closed, then no more water from the pool should get to the equipment. If you do not have a a valve after the filter before going back to the return jets, then I suspect you'll need to plug the return jet(s).

Thank you for the advice, I have attached a photo of the pool box. Am I right in thinking that I am missing a valve after the filter and so if I wish to carry out maintenance will need to plug the return jets in the pool? Thanks again.

I would agree.

The only other thing I can think of considering is how high is the box compared to the pool's waterline? If the box is higher than the pool waterline, you might get lucky and water will stop flowing. But if the box is level with (or lower) than the pool waterline like they are with above ground pools, water will keep flowing downhill to the pad/box. Hope that helps.
