Replacement for Hayward Super Pump .75 hp

My 10-year old Hayward Superpump .75 hp needs to be replaced. (finding someone to do a repair seems to be impossible). So, I would appreciate a recommendation on an economical choice. The Hayward same model is now $700. I’d be surprised if the economies of a variable speed are going to pay off for me because I may not have the pool for more than a few years. So, I'll consider other makes as well as Hayward.
