Repair or replace

We were flooded out from Milton and our pool pump and SWG were both underwater for days. The pump is a Hayward variable speed max flo that is approximately 8 years old. I let everything dry out for a few days before flipping the breakers back on and it will not even power on. I can't tell if the SWG is still good since the pump won't run. We replaced the SWG (pentair ichlor) last year. Is the pump work fixing (can it even be repaired?), or should I just buy a new one?

Your best bet would be to get a pool equipment repair guy out there to see if the pump is repairable or not. As Pat said, the control panel might be fried, but another possible situation is that the pump needs a bit of help to start up again. It might need to be primed, cleaned out, or some other tactic. I only say this because I have an old pump, and we had it turned off for about 3 months during a renovation. The day of start-up, the pump wouldn't turn on, but the pool guy was able to--for lack of better terms--coax it to start up again.
