Removing Iron Stains - Vitamin C

I am about to get rid of what I believe is Iron from red mud that slid into the pool with heavy rain. The Vitamin C in a small test worked great, can I just get rid of all the stains with the Vitamin C method or do I have to do a full ascorbic treatment. I am not sure if the Vitamin C is a test to then run the ascorbic treatment or if I can just use the Vitamin C. My stains are localized mostly to the deep end, would take a lot of pills but much faster than a full ascorbic acid treatment and wouldnt take the pool out of commission during that treatment. And, since I had to remove so much dirt and debris, should replace my filters (only 4 months old)? Assuming yes due to the amount of red dirt and iron trapped inside the filters. I did clean them throughout the filtering over a week 8 times.

Thanks, Mike

You can spot treat iron stains using Vitamin C tablets rather then the full AA treatment. Whichever works best for you.

Watch your FC level as the Vitamin C will consume your chlorine.
