I grew up going to a private swim club every summer( too much fun to describe!). In my teens I started helping with daily water maintenance and learned a ton about large pool chemicals(pool was a half Olympic size.). Now, many years later, I'm back in the pool world, except this time with my own, greatly scaled down. So, now I'm just refreshing my brain. Spent the last season overhauling plumbing and relining, as the pool had 20 year old vinyl, some pipe leaks, original sand in filter, ect. This season she should be like new!
