My father-in-law rigged his own solar heating system using PVC pipe on his garage roof.
Thought I'd take the same concept but used 3/4"garden hose - about 900 ft.
The first year I tested with an independent 1/2 hp pump. Worked well so I hooked it up to my pool pump – new 1hp Hayward super pump – which just fried.
Would switching to a 3/4 hp motor work? Or is it simply an ill-fated experiment?
