Rebuild or replace?

When I bought my home with a pool 4 years ago, it had a barracuda g3. Not sure how old the unit was at that time. It worked ok though I was new to having a pool so I may not have gotten the flow right for it. I rebuilt it once replacing everything on it 3 years ago. Again, it was ok but I still had some issues getting it to hit all areas of my pool. That rebuild lasted 1 year then I noticed things were worn again. Rather than rebuild again, because I wasn't 100% happy with it, I took it out and picked up a cheap manual vacuum.

Now, I'm tired of manual vacuuming lol.

I live in Central Florida. The pool is relatively small and is completely screened. Dedicated suction line.

I still have the g3 body. I could rebuild it again (probably around $100) or I could spend more and get something else. I have read about the pool cleaner for a while now (and it's clones.)

Pinch a Penny is running a sale/rebate in store at the moment and though they don't sell the pool cleaner, some of the pricing on what they are selling is pretty good.

Thoughts? Should I save some cash and just rebuild the g3? If I did this I would probably try to get a flow meter so I can adjust the valves and stuff properly this time. Or should I pick up something else during this sale?

It's really a personal call that is primarily based on the o-mighty ... $$$$. Many owners are moving away from the traditional suction cleaners, especially if they only have one suction port to begin with. Instead, they leave the skimmer suction free for surface debris and supplement cleaning with a robotic cleaner. Plug it in and let it go! As you may have already noticed, they do come with a price tag, which is exactly why it's a personal decision based on what you can afford. We have many, many threads here that discuss a variety of cleaners, and for many owners they have them listed in their signature. Me personally, I have a Barracuda that came with my pool and I never used it once. I just don't want my only suction line tied-up. So for now, I'm still vacuuming manually like back in the cave man days. One day I'll sacrifice food, gas, and clothing expenses to buy a good automated cleaner.
