Rebuild or replace pump

My pump ran dry for 3-4 hours, amazingly it still works, although at about 80% pressure and is sucking some air. It is leaking quite a bit out of top outlet port (where the pump body meets the PVC). These idiots glued everything directly to each other so there is not really an easy fix, I'll have to replumb the whole situation from outlet to filter I guess?

When discovered the basket was extremely hot, so hot it melted the filter basket and it was caved it.

Should I replace the basket o-ring, and replumb the outlet port? Is the pump damaged internally from the extreme heat and I should just replace the whole thing?

From my reading it sounds like I should probably replace the motor seal? How do I know what size/item to get?

What size is the basket o-ring?

Does anyone know what kind of pump this is? Hayward something...

The pump housing looks to have melted. If so you will need a whole new pump. And since you are going to need to re-plumb much of it I would suggest going with a rebuild-able valve from Pentair or Jandy instead of the ball valves. As those get older the handles break.
 
Thanks for the responses. AftonJeeper if you are referring to the third pic, that is water flowing over the pump due to the leak on the outlet port, the pump housng appears to be fine, and it still does work, just seems to be reduced flow, so I don't know if the impeller or internals are damaged. The flow could be from the outlet leak or it does seem to be sucking in a little air as well now.
 
Do you know what caused it to run dry? Are there air bubbles in the strainer basket now?

Yes a re-plumb is needed to correct the output leak. INYOPools.com can help with getting the necessary parts for the pump, basket, etc.
 
Both valves pictured were shut off accidentally, so the output had no where to go. Yes there is quite a bit of air in the pump strainer area now, it is pushing water, but I would say at about 60-75% of what it normally did. I'm thinking about just getting a whole new variable speed pump, even though this thing is tiny it's costing me about $25/month to run, with a variable speed supposedly that would go down to $3, although I question that?!? If true though a variable speed would pay for itself in only a few years.

I just tested my pump with a multimeter and it is 121V at 10.4A.
