Just took down my 27’ x 48”round pool. It was placed under my deck. From the top of the dec to the top of the pool was 10”. I’m moving it out 6” and up 4ish and installing a 54”by 27’ and want it pretty flush with the top of the deck. My question is do I use sand to raise it or stone dust then a layer of sand? Also plan on making a deep area.

Thanks!

How deep in the ground was the previous pool installed?
If you raise the pool how much of the wall will remain below ground level? Will this meet the manufactures installation requirement?
Sand is a good leveling material and compacts well when it has a moisture content of 8-10%, but it has to be contained.
The pools walls will do.
Think of stone dust aka screening as just a small particle size step up from sand.

Original pool was 4” to 12” under grade. I’ll definitely use gravel for the first 3”. I was thinking stone dust to lock in the gravel then sand for the topping.
