Question about material under patio blocks

Hi, I am in the process of installing a above ground pool that I had purchased from the pool factory and I had a couple of questions. I have leveled out the area where the pool will be installed and am in the process of putting trenches in to put patio blocks down, that the uprights will rest on. In the instructions from the Pool Factory it says to put crushed stone in the trench before putting the patio block down, and then filling around the upright with crushed stone once it’s in the trench. I was just wondering if this material from Lowe’s would be appropriate for putting under the patio blocks? It was the only thing I saw when I went to Lowe’s that looked like it would be appropriate, everything else was decorative rocks.

Thanks for any advice! Just to add I am using 8”x16” x 2.5” thick patio blocks.
