Cement going in next week and need to figure out placement for volleyball and basketball by tomorrow

keep in mind, I’m 6’5” and son will be too. Wife is a normal 5’8 and daughter will be 5’10 in couple years.

Trying to get games as far as far into deep end as possible so we don’t splash the lounging elders hanging out on steps in shallow end.

Pool is 40 feet long with constant slope that goes from 3 feet to 5’10”

volleyball: I know it’s not best pool type for that, but just trying to put net deep into deep end as possible without people unable to stand. Right now I’m thinking the net around 4’3” part. Tall team in deep end and shorties on the shallow :)

basketball: I heard 3.5” is norm. I’m thinking 4’3” there too as we are taller. If some shorter people want to play, they can always shoot from shallow side of hoop.

I guess I’m asking if 4’3” seems ok, or can I go a few inches deeper? What depth are yours and do you feel like deeper would be an issue

Sounds pretty close to me. We keep a portable basketball hoop in the corner of our shallow end (about 3') and stretch a portable volleyball net at about 4' +/- 5 inches or so I guess. My pool is also 40' long, so it drops-off about midway, so most of those type of games are positioned in that shallow area.

Can I see a picture of your pool? I am trying to decide something similar. How deep is your deep end and do you have a diving board?
