Second year running my own pool and truly appreciate this site.
I was getting air bubbles coming out of my pipe that pumps water back into the pool below the water line (water return inlet?). This was driving ph up and I figured there had to be an air leak somewhere by this wasn’t happening a few days earlier.
After visiting this site and troubleshooting the various suggestions, and examining my pump area, I noticed that one of my grease fittings on a diverter valve was lying on the ground. That can’t be good. Then, I noticed another was hanging by a thread. Double no good. I held my finger over these holes and voila, the bubbles subsided. Jumped onto YouTube and found a tutorial to replace these, then on to Amazon to order the parts.
Two days later, received the parts, grabbed my handy pink tool kit and headed out to the pump. Thirty mins later, even after having to bore out one of the broken off grease valves, problem solved.
Just wanted to share my success and the great help I have received from this site in managing my pool vs paying big bucks to someone else.
