Pump Loses Prime Every Night

Welcome to TFP!!

Glad that you've both searched for and found help from some of the past threads :goodjob:

To save a little $$ (something that has become more important these past few years) you can put a single check valve on the main pipe coming into the pump

Also, it's probably better to start a new thread in the future (some folks will just ignore an older thread  ).

I hope you have a great pool season!

An air leak at the filter will allow the water to flow backwards through the system causing the pump to lose prime. If the equipment is elevated above the pool then it happens quite easily.

I had this problem on my pool but couldn't find any air leak. The equipment is elevated above the pool. I installed a check valve between the filter and the pump and it solved the problem. Like you I had no space to place a check valve in front of the pump.
Had no idea ---> "An air leak at the filter will allow the water to flow backwards through the system causing the pump to lose prime."

Thanks!
