Hi!
I recently bought a house with an older pool and self priming Hayward pump which looks decently Old. My pump has been working great the whole summer however today after using the vacuum, I went into my pump house and it was just humming and not spinning. The pump housing was hot. I checked the electrical connection and opened up the pump cover and cleaned out the debris basket. I read through a couple forums and then checked the impeller spun. I couldn’t move the impeller by hand as I stuck my hand into the pump. Went to inyo pools and got wire to see if there was any debris in the impeller but nothing came out. What is my next steps? Do I need to replace the whole motor or whole pump? The pump itself looks pretty old but hasn’t had a single issue until now. Is there a way to get an easier view at the impeller to see if it may be clogged?
