Pump has stopped

As of 11/30/2021 I have a new pump, a 3.0 HP Pentair Intellifo2 VST. As of 6/21/2022 7pm (or so) the pump has stopped working. There is no electricity getting to the unit. First thing to check was the circuit breaker. Sure enough, the breaker was flipped, so I reset the breaker. Unfortunately, I have no evidence that electricity is reaching the unit.

I am not an electrician, but does anyone have an idea about what I might be able to check on my own? Is there any kind of external reset I can push to wake up the electrical brains - kinda like a WiFi wireless router? I have already called the service company that installed the unit. They cannot visit until this Friday. Pretty bummed about watching my clean pool turn green in 100 degree heat.

Thanks

dsm,

Is the pump's display blank?

Does the power go directly from your Circuit breaker to the pump, or is there an old timer between the two?

Show us some pics...

I assume the pump is running as a standalone pump, and that it is not being controlled by an automation system. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Good questions. The pump display is blank. The old timer is still present and sits between the breaker & pump. The switch in the timer is set to 'on'. The pump is standalone. I do not use any automation devices.

While you get help with the pump, doesn't mean you will get a green pool. Still maintain the proper levels and make sure you brush the pool a few extra times to keep the water moving. One or 2 days without a pump will not turn your pool green if you stay on top of it.

Add liquid chlorine each day to the pool. If you have a robot, let it run around the bottom to help mix. If you have a sump pump available, drop it in the pool and run the outlet to opposite end of the pool.

dsm,

You can turn the timer switch off and then back on, and see if anything happens.

The only way to find your issue is with a voltmeter.

You, or maybe a friend, needs to check the voltage right where it comes into the pump and see if you get 240 volts. If you do, the pump has a problem. If you don't have 240 volts at the pump, then you would need to see if you have the voltage at the timer as it could be bad. If you have no voltage at the timer, then the circuit breaker could be bad.

Unfortunately, there is no magic button. :(

Thanks all. More info. The original electric box operating the timer is still good. I can hear the clock/timer mechanism operating. : ) Seems that my problem is at the pump. I do not have a volt meter, just a voltage checker with a little lamp that illuminates when an electric current is received.
